Set, use or recover an optional password

Use a password only when the current sign-in page offers it.

Before you start

Existing program account. Password access must be enabled and the current page must offer the option.

Steps

  1. If Already set a password? appears, expand it and enter your recorded email and existing password.
  2. To set a password, first sign in using the working email flow, then use Set or update password from your account menu if offered. Enter matching values of at least 12 characters.
  3. For a forgotten password, follow Reset your password and request recovery for the recorded email. Complete the recovery link and account-owned password form.
  4. Sign out and verify the offered sign-in method works and opens your own workspace.

Check the result

The account-owned password update is confirmed and a later sign-in works. A reset-request message is not proof of email delivery or account existence.

If something goes wrong

If the feature is off, the page directs you to email sign-in. Staff cannot see or set a scholar’s password through this Help Center. Never share a password, code or recovery link.
